Each Work Experience course is time based where 25 hours = 1 credit.

  • All students enrolled in Work Experience need to have completed the prerequisite HCS3000: Workplace Safety Systems.
  • Work Experience 15–25–35 courses are components of an off-campus education learning experience. These courses provide opportunities for students to:
    • apply, in the workplace, knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired through course work
    • discover their career interests and aptitudes in meaningful work activities.
  • Students will be under the cooperative supervision of an off-campus education coordinator, and the employer.
  • Students, employers and Aspen View will need to follow off campus guidelines set out by Alberta Education and the employment standards and regulations of Canada and Alberta.These guidelines can be found in Alberta Education’s 2019 Off Campus Education Handbook.
    • Students need to be aware that the work site will need to pass a safety inspection by an Aspen View employee prior to Aspen View authorizing student placement at the site.
    • Students can only work during the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm.
  • Students will be responsible to find their own work placements prior to the course start date.Some students may find work experiences opportunities that are paid by the employer.
